🧤 Glove test – Benett Level X USA

Our head coach Patrick tested the Benett Level X USA for you! An honest look at an ambitious goalkeeper glove.

1. First impression & workmanship

The striking design of the USA edition immediately catches your eye upon unpacking – modern, but certainly not to everyone's taste. The overall workmanship is clean, the joints appear sturdy, and the seams are neatly placed. The material has a pleasant, rather soft feel – not too stiff, but also not quite as "luxurious" as the absolute top models.

📌 Solid first impression with a bold look. No major manufacturing defects, but the look takes some getting used to.

2. Fit & Comfort

Thanks to "Easy Cuff Entry," putting them on is straightforward, even with larger hands. The glove fits snugly but is flexible – especially well-thought-out in the finger area (Pro Negative Cut). However, for very narrow hands, the thumb may not fit perfectly – there will be some play. Overall, freedom of movement is very good, with no annoying restrictions.

Good fit for average to wider hands – comfortable to wear even during longer use.

3. Grip & Performance on the pitch

The 4mm "Fusiongrip Wet'n Dry" grip foam provides impressive grip in dry conditions. Crosses and back passes are also easy to control. In the rain, the grip holds up better than expected—not top-notch, but above average for the price range. Only on very wet balls does the grip diminish somewhat.

👍 Stable grip under everyday conditions – functional even in wet conditions. Absolutely suitable for ambitious training conditions.

4. Cushioning & Protection

The cushioning is solid, especially for low shots or sideways shots. The recoil from hard shots is noticeable, but not unpleasant. The protection in the finger area is adequate; the glove deliberately omits finger-save elements – while this increases ball feel, it somewhat reduces the protection for young goalkeepers.

⚠️ Well suited for technically advanced keepers with stable catching behavior - very young goalkeepers or beginners might want a little more protection.

5. Handling & Closure

The high-end neoprene strap is sturdy, easily adjustable, and fits securely. Even with sweaty hands, the brace stays in place reliably—no pressure points, no slipping. The entry loop is a useful feature and makes putting it on significantly easier, even for small hands.

Strong handling – closure solution and entry appear well thought out and durable.

6. Durability & Longevity

This is where the Level X USA scores significantly: After approximately 8–10 sessions on artificial turf, the adhesive foam proves to be surprisingly robust. Abrasion remains moderate, even with intensive use. The seams and material also hold up—no tears, no loose spots. The latex coating on the punching zone also shows good durability.

💪 Significantly more durable than many models in a similar price range – suitable for both training and match use.

7. Conclusion & Recommendation

Who is it suitable for? The Benett Level X USA is a glove for ambitious youth and amateur goalkeepers who value modern design, good functionality, and solid craftsmanship – without spending hundreds of dollars. Its strengths lie clearly in comfort, grip in dry conditions, and durability . Minor weaknesses include wet-weather stability and thumb fit for narrow hands .

Recommendation: Ideal for ambitious young players and adults in the amateur sector - both for training and for matches.⛔ Limited suitability: For goalkeepers who play a lot in wet conditions or on extremely abrasive surfaces (e.g. clay pitches).

💬 Care tip: Rinse with clean water after training, never dry on a radiator. This will preserve the grip significantly longer.

📊 Overall impression: 7.8/10 – modern all-round glove with strong value for money and above-average robustness
